Photovoltaic energy  

Energy which comes from the sun to the earth is received as electromagnetic radiation which is the basic source of energy for life on planet Earth.

The origin of this energy is inside the Sun, where fusion reactions take place by which four atoms of hydrogen give rise to two atoms of helium and the excess atomic mass is transformed into energy. That is to say, the Sun behaves as a fusion reactor at 150 million kilometres.

The photovoltaic cells transform part of the solar radiation directly into electricity.
